Solar panels electricity supplier -
costs & savings
Experience a monthly reduction in your energy costs and receive an income from your electricity supplier
The secret to making significant savings with my energy station is the governmentís Feed-in Tariff (FIT).
The Feed-In Tariff scheme became available in the UK on 1st April 2010 and guarantees that your electricity supplier pays you a pre-agreed amount for all of the electricity your solar panels generate.
The scheme covers a variety of renewable energy technologies but solar PV systems, up to an installation size of 4 Kilo Watts, will automatically qualify for the full FIT payments if they were installed between 1st April 2010 and 1st April 2012 using an MCS certificated product and installer.
The Tariff provides three financial benefits:
- Generation Tariff: A payment for all the electricity you produce, even if you use it yourself - 41.3p/kWh for each unit generated
- Export Tariff: Additional bonus payments of 3p/kWh for electricity you export into the grid
- Energy bill savings: A reduction on your standard electricity bill, from using energy you produce yourself
