FAQs
Installation and Maintenance
Can this system be fitted to any residential property?
No. To work best, panels need to be fixed onto roofs or walls that are predominantly south-facing and not overshadowed by trees or other objects. If your roof is overshadowed for a large part of the day, these panels will not work as they should.
How long does installation take?
If the weather is favourable, installation can be completed in a day, with a further half day to erect and take down scaffolding. (Our team will determine the best way to access your roof and whether it would be appropriate to use an EasyDeck hydraulic lifting platform instead of scaffolding).
Installation time also depends on whether your voltage inverter is fitted outside your property or inside your loft space.
How much disruption will there be during installation?
Our teams can fit a system in a day. Installation causes minimal disruption and all your equipment will be hidden away, either in an outside box, or in your loft.
Will I receive certification for all electrical work completed?
Yes you will.
Will the installation cause damage to my roof tiles?
We are an MCS approved installer and all our work is fully insured. Our installation teams are highly trained and experienced working on or with roofs. Damage during installation is highly unlikely, but if a tile or slate does need replacing, we will do that at no extra cost.
Will the panels make my roof insecure in high winds?
No it won't. Panels are fitted closely against the roof and wind cannot blow under them.
Can my roof take all this extra weight?
my energy station installations follow detailed structural calculations carried out by specialist engineers. We will only fit a system if the roof can support it.
Who is responsible for maintenance of the panels?
There are no moving parts to your system and it will require little or no maintenance. Component manufacturers give a 25-year guarantee on most items, and your purchase comes with a 5-year income protection policy, ensuring that it will operate exactly as described.
In the unlikely event of a problem, we will visit to identify the fault. We will, wherever appropriate, rectify it at no charge to you.
Would you need constant access to my property for maintenance purposes?
No. Dates and times of visits are pre-arranged at your convenience, and we give you advance notice about the parts of your property we need access to.
