Solar fraud

This is an important notice on fraudulent Free Solar PV communications and propositions that have been made to members of the public and are purported to be on behalf of My Energy Station by Fair Deal Energy.

There have recently been incidents, where organisations are falsely claiming to recruit and install Solar PV installations on behalf of My Energy Station and/or Norton Energy Solutions Limited or, by people claiming to work for, or be affiliated to, these companies. These propositions notify individuals that they are entitled to free solar by providing money. In particular Fair Deal Energy is portraying itself as official representatives of My Energy Station. This is incorrect and fraudulent activity; they do not in any way represent our business activities.

My Energy Station never asks for any money or payments from customers for free solar, at any point in the sales and/or installation process. All individuals who are successful in gaining an offer for free solar from us, whether directly or indirectly, are always required to go through a formal survey and legal conveyancing process before an acceptance offer is provided in writing.

Please Note: These communications from Fair Deal Energy are fraudulent. They do not originate from My Energy Station nor are they associated with My Energy Station's sales and/or installation process.

Salient points of such communications are that they come from non-My Energy Station e-mail addresses (e.g. from a yahoo.com account); the use of poor English, at some stage, a payment is requested. We recommend that you do not respond to unsolicited business propositions or offers from people with whom you are unfamiliar. Do not disclose your personal or financial details to anyone you do not know. If you receive such proposals, we would advise you to contact your local police and provide them with all the information you may have from the senders (email addresses, phone/fax details, etc.).

Our Approved Introducers and Sales Agents will not charge you any fees for Free Solar and are committed to working within the Code of Practice set out by Renewable Energy Assurance Ltd (REAL). If you are concerned about the actions of any our sales agents, or if you are approached by other sales agents purporting to represent My Energy Station or Norton Energy Solutions, please report these to us by calling 0845 600 3323
