MCS accreditation

In order to ensure that all renewable energy companies perform to the same highest standards the government has introduced the MCS (Microgeneration Certification Scheme) accreditation system. All renewable energy businesses must be MCS accredited to legally install solar PV systems. As an MCS accredited company you can be sure that all of our work fully complies with current government legislation and is of the highest quality.

REAL

We are also members of the REAL (Renewable Energy Assurance Listed) Scheme and as such adhere to their consumer code of conduct. This provides a forum for redress and consumer support should you be dissatisfied in any way with our service. my energy station also participates in the REAL Deposit and Advance Payment Insurance scheme. This keeps you covered in the unlikely event that we cease to trade.

Also, as REAL members we will provide customers installing a Free my energy station solar PV system the following information, in writing, before you sign a contract:

  • The full value of the expected feed-in tariff income over 25 years
  • The up-front cost of the system if purchased outright
  • The up-front cost of the system if purchased with a loan
  • Any additional charges
  • In the case of a hire purchase agreement, details of the consumer credit licence
  • Whether the consumer will receive the export premium
  • Whether the consumer will receive the feed-in tariff income once the capital cost of the system has been repaid
  • Legal ownership of the system
  • Arrangements for maintaining and insuring the system
  • The status of the relevant manufacturers' and installers' guarantees
  • Implications for the consumer's existing or future mortgage or other loans
  • Whether the consumer can opt to purchase the system at a later date
  • Whether the consumer can add to the system at a later date
  • Who will be responsible for removing the system at the end of its useful life
  • Arrangements for assigning the arrangement if the property changes hands
  • Arrangements for terminating the agreement
